Notice of Annual Election, Preparation of Registration Rolls, Requirements of Filing by Candidates for Water Commissioner and Eligibility for Voting in Annual Election. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that an election will be held in the Garden City Park Water/Fire District on Tuesday, December 11, 2007 between the hours of 6:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. for the purpose of electing one (1) Water Commissioner for a three (3) year term commencing January 1, 2008. Voting will take place at the Herricks Community Center, Herricks Road, New Hyde Park, New York; the Garden City Park School, Central Avenue and Third Street, Garden City Park, New York; and the Denton Avenue School, Denton Avenue, New Hyde Park, New York.
PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that in accordance with a resolution adopted by the Board of Commissioners, candidates for the office of Water Commissioner shall file their names with the Secretary of the Board of Commissioners, or his authorized representative, at the District Office, 333 Marcus Avenue, Garden City Park, New York no later than 4:30 p.m. Monday, November 12, 2007. All such nominations shall be submitted in petition form subscribed by no less than twenty-five (25) registered voters of the district.
PLEASE TAKE FURTHER NOTICE that to be eligible to vote for Water Commissioner, an individual must be a registered voter who has resided in the District for at least thirty (30) days preceding the election and is registered with Nassau County Board of Elections by the twenty-third (23rd) day prior to the election. In the current year, such registration must take place on or before Monday, November 19, 2007.
PLEASE TAKE FURTHER NOTICE that the inspectors of Election of the Garden City Park Water District shall meet on Tuesday, December 4, 2007 between the hours of 6:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. at the District Office, 333 Marcus Avenue, Garden City Park, New York for the purpose of preparing the rolls of registered voters of the District and having said rolls available for inspection by the public.
